PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad
Beginning less than a month ago, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has repeatedly claimed that Bashar al-Asaad had “lost all legitimacy” after forces loyal to him attacked the US embassy. It certainly didn’t take long for him to issue a response: Assad sent his troops to launch a brutal military campaign against the citizens of Hama.
Basically, it took Assad less than four weeks to accomplish what Bill Clinton has failed to do in over 35 years: shut Hillary up. In all fairness, it’s not that Assad doesn’t respect women – it’s just that he isn’t quite sure if Hillary is one.
Mr. Bashar al-Assad, you might have employed questionable tactics, but because you told Hillary Clinton to “suck your dick” and you didn’t even need to ask Monica Lewinsky, you are The Washington Fancy’s Player of the Week.
