Floridians Give Casey Anthony Money to Stay Out of Sunshine State

"I get that Floridians want Anthony out, but why would they send her an Ohio State jersey? Florida crushed them in 2007. That's just rude." - Florida Gov. Rick Scott

ORLANDO — Casey Anthony has fled to Ohio and doesn’t want to return to Florida; Floridians don’t want Anthony to return to Florida. Residents of the “Sunshine State” are hedging their bets that she won’t return by sending her money.
Anthony has been ordered to return to Florida to serve probation for check-fraud, but Floridians are sending an avalanche of checks to help Anthony get better lawyers and thus keep her out. “If we can’t get her lawyers to keep her out of Florida, maybe she’ll be buried to death under the money,” a man from Orlando said.
Anthony brought shame upon Florida after the Orlando resident was charged with the murder of her daughter. Her subsequent acquittal further enraged residents. Now, they’ve united against the woman’s return, hoping to pawn her off on Ohio. “We have enough embarrassment living in this state as it is, we don’t want Casey Anthony back,” said a Dade City woman.
It is estimated that Anthony has received over $200,000 from her detractors so far. However, the opposition — every person living in Ohio — is equally fierce. It is rumored that an Ohio group is collecting money to pay a judge to drive to Ohio and bring Anthony to Florida — or anywhere but Ohio.
When New Yorkers were asked to comment, most said the Anthony story is old news. “We have moved on to the serial killer who was sentenced to death — Anthony is so passé,” said a young Manhattanite. “I don’t know which is worse,” said a woman from Brooklyn, “that they found her innocent, or that she actually wants to live in Ohio.”
