Just as we are experiencing the production benefits of Bush’s policies from four years ago, so will the effects of Obama’s War on Oil will become noticeable in about four years. That’s when his actions start to effect daily supply. If ANWR had been opened up in 2003, we would be awash. Same principle if the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository had been opened on schedule. Amazing that folks don’t realize that a conscious policy to not fix a problem (i.e. drill for oil, find a repository for nuclear waste, etc.) leads to that problem not being fixed.

If you believe administration policies can't affect gasoline prices then you also have to maintain the nonsensical belief that the laws of Supply and Demand apply everywhere except in the United States.

Heritage’s Rob Bluey reports that ”the Obama Administration is overseeing a sharp decline in fossil fuel production (coal, oil, and natural gas) on federal lands, which recently hit its lowest point in nine years.” Those actions include withdrawing areas offered for 77 oil and gas leases in Utah, canceling lease sales in the Western Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic coast, delaying exploration off the coast of Alaska, keeping other resource-rich areas off limits, finalizing rules that establish more hurdles to onshore oil and natural gas production on federal lands, and withdrawing 61 oil and natural gas leases in Montana as part of a lawsuit settlement over climate change.

And then there’s the issue of the Keystone XL pipeline, which would deliver 830,000 barrels of oil per day from Alberta, Canada, to Gulf Coast refineries. When given the chance to approve the project, President Obama flat out said “no.”

Sorry Tom, but today's gas prices obviously ARE an extension of Obama's energy policy.

I'm hoping this is tongue in cheek and I missed it.

The President doesn't control gas prices, nor do Arabs, investors do. Gas prices going up in an election year hurts Obama, so this is obviously not an extension of his energy policy.

It is also ironic to see baby boomers receiving Social Security complaining about women paying for other women's contraceptives. On the plus side, condoms are cheaping than paying for kids that women can't afford.

I respect the editors for staying nuetral and headlining an article defending Rush Limbaugh, however.
