Google Releases List of Most Trustworthy Websites

By Delia Hersh

In recent years, people have begun garnering more and more information solely from website, leading many to question just how much we can trust websites for accurate information.

In an attempt to answer this question, Google launched an extensive, two and a half day study investigating what sort of websites give the most accurate information.  Below are the results, Google’s list of Top-Ten Most Trustworthy Websites:

6. Porn Sites – Be careful what you type into the Search bars of these websites - you will receive exactly what you ask for.

5. WebMD.com – You have cancer.  Or allergies.

4. Fox News – Everyone is lying to you.  Except for them.

3. “Fake News” Ads Promoting Health Products – More trustworthy than Fox.

2. Your Friend’s Facebook Status – If you can’t trust your bestie’s unresearched scathing opinion on the latest trend, what can one trust?

1. Google.com – Remember AskJeeves?  We don’t.

Critics of Google’s study have cited Google’s own interest in promoting certain websites such as Youtube, which Google has particular interest in.  In response, Google threatened to shut down its search engine for 5 minutes, effectively silencing critics’ complaints.
