Ted Nugent, Kid Rock, Tupac Hologram Side with Romney over Obama
LOS ANGELES — Rocker and conservative gun rights activist Ted Nugent is locked and loaded to meet with the Secret Service after telling a NRA-friendly crowd that he would “either be dead or in jail by this time next year” if President Barack Obama was reelected.
After referencing the movie Braveheart, Nugent exclaimed, ““We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November!”
Obama campaign managers took to the airwaves over the last 48 hours to try and get Nugent to apologize. Their failure has prompted the Obama campaign to open a “war room” dedicated to the ramblings of anti-Obama rock stars.
Obama campaign manager Jim Messina elaborated Wednesday: “Ted Nugent, Kidd Rock and Megadeath front man Dave Mustaine are all essentially on the record as foot soldiers in a war against Obama’s reelection. As of today we will be dedicating time, money and resources to monitoring the onstage ramblings of political neophytes.”
Mitt Romney’s campaign manager Matt Rhoades, in order to respond to this wave of support, has refused to say much about Nugent’s remarks, citing the ongoing Secret Service investigation. He did, however, point to the Romney website, which has been chronicling the explosive statements of former Rage Against the Machine front man Zack de la Rocha, as well as the Tupac Shakur hologram that won over crowds at the Coachella Music Festival.
When Rhoades was informed that Tupac was a hologram and has been dead for well over a decade, he cryptically ended the interview, saying “That’s what they would like you to believe, isn’t it? West Coast love knows better, Biggie Smalls…”
