Obama Uses TV to Reach New Constituents; ‘Slow Jammin’ with Fallon Just the Beginning
NEW YORK — In an effort to reach out to younger, cooler voters than those who watch C-SPAN, the President of the United States, was featured a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
The Commander-in-Chief was featured reading news headlines with a funky backbeat, supplied by the studio band and attempted humorous commentary from the sweat-soaked host.
“This is only step one of our efforts to make the president seem more approachable, more like the common man,” explained White House Junior Press Advisor Helmut Law. “We have lined up as many television appearances as possible to maximize the president’s media exposure to the widest possible demographic prior to the November vote.”
Although a number of guest spots are still in negotiation, some of the dates include an interview with Charlie Rose, being a contestant on Wipeout US, and getting a part in Survivor: Washington DC. There are also rumours of co-hosting Saturday Night Live, juggling on America’s Got Talent, and starring in Fresh Prince of Bel Air: The Movie.
