Obama, Biden in Gay Marriage Tiff

By Chris McKerracher

WASHINGTON — Barack and Joe are a fairly normal couple in Washington.

Being good partners they support one another, care deeply about one another and rarely argue, especially in public. Now, however, as Joe tries to establish his own identity after being subsumed over the last four years by his significant “brother”, cracks are being detected in the couple’s public facade.

“I’m a little hurt,” admitted a teary eyed Joe. “I opened my heart to him about my feelings about gay marriage and all I’ve gotten since is the cold shoulder.”

“It’s not that I don’t think gay marriage is right for us,“ explained a rather defensive Barack. “It’s just a timing thing. Of course I love the idea but just not now…. I’m simply not ready for that kind of commitment.”

“I’ve always let Barack be in charge,” sniffed Joe, dabbing his eyes as he spoke. “It is so important to him. The way he treats me though, sometimes, it’s like I have to just sit at home with my mouth shut like a dutiful wife. I thought I meant more to him than that.”
