Unaware Pawlenty Still Waiting by the Phone for Romney’s VP Call

By William Celloutte

MINNEAPOLIS — Former Governor Tim Pawlenty has been awake since 3 AM this morning and hasn’t moved from the chair next to his phone.

Unavailable for comment citing his desire to not miss Mitt Romney’s telephone call asking him to be Vice President, Pawlenty’s communication director Chip McJeffers released the following statement; “He doesn’t watch television on the weekend. He has know idea that Mitt has chosen Paul Ryan…we just don’t have the heart to tell him.”

Pawlenty has long been described as the hardest-working Romney surrogate, sparking speculation that all this effort would be rewarded the VP nod. For days leading up to the announcement, many asked Pawlenty if he was the presumptive VP – “I have no idea,” he would respond with a mischievous smile and wink.

“It’s sad really,” continued McJeffers. “All the time he spent working for the Romney Campaign has destroyed his marriage and estranged his child. This is really all he has left now, I am afraid to tell him.”

At press time, sources indicate that the former Governor  has not eaten all day and has left the chair only once to use the bathroom, after which he ran back frantically asking if anyone had called.
