First Dog Bo Earns Higher Approval Rating than President Obama’s

“I don’t think President Obama had anything to do with the Detroit auto-bailout,” voter Steve McGee said. “I think all that credit goes to Bo.”

WASHINGTON — According to a recent Gallup poll, First Dog Bo has acquired a higher approval rating than President Barack Obama.

87% of American voters approve of Bo’s performance in office, while Obama only received a 48% approval rating.

In a campaign that has been focused on candidates and their dogs— with particular emphasis put on Obama’s dog-eating past and Romney’s dog-abusing past— voters should expect canine affairs to remain crucial in the 2012 presidential election campaign. As political analyst Frederick Calmary explained, “Over the years, presidential pooches have become more involved in the White House administration and are taking a more active role in office.”

In a recent interview, First Dog Bo barked, “I was in the Situation Room when— SQUIRREL! – when bin Laden was killed. I supported Barack’s’s decision for conducting the raid, even when Defense Sec. Gates was suggested a drone strike operation—do I smell bacon? I made an extremely persuasive case for the raid against Biden’s “wait-and-see” approach. Ultimately, it came down to  the abilities of our fine U.S. Navy SEALs to complete the mission, and Barack and I had full faith in them. Can I get a treat now?”

Conservative critics have used Bo’s narrative to further their attack against Obama’s recent ad campaign, which suggests that Gov. Mitt Romney would not have made the same decision to raid bin Laden’s compound.

“Obama’s claim that ‘I killed Osama, and Mitt Romney would not’ is completely ridiculous, “Fox News co-anchor Gretchen Carlson said. “Anyone in his right mind would have done the exact same thing—even a dog would have made the decision to kill Osama bin Laden.”

Bo Biden is also being credited with successfully stifling threats made by Somali pirates, decreasing the number of the nation’s homeless, increasing fuel efficiency standards, and encouraging the President to endorse same-sex marriage.
